Vampire lifting / PRP treatment

The facial ageing process leads to reduced collagen synthesis and an associated loss of elasticity and volume due to decreasing cell activity, resulting in increased wrinkle formation. In addition to wrinkle treatment with botulinum toxin or fillers, treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has already established itself in aesthetic regenerative medicine.
PRP is an established, safe and low-risk minimally invasive treatment method that leads to an increase in skin elasticity and volume in everyday clinical practice.

Application in aesthetic facial surgery

PRP, also known as platelet-rich plasma, is an endogenous product in which the high proportion of growth factors and endogenous cytokines stimulate the revitalization of the skin. The effect of PRP has been investigated and proven many times in clinical studies. PRP is widely used to accelerate wound healing and tissue regeneration as well as in aesthetic facial surgery. It is successfully used in anti-ageing to improve the skin structure in the lower eyelid area and to revitalize the skin in the mid-face, neck, décolleté and hands. PRP is a possible alternative treatment method for the treatment of wrinkles if the indications are suitable. When used in the scalp area, PRP promotes hair growth and regeneration as well as hair thickness growth. In everyday clinical practice, PRP has also been used to treat scars after surgical procedures, acne scars, cellulite and stretch marks (striae gravidarum).

Risks

PRP is based on the body’s own components, which are very well tolerated and hardly any side effects or risks are to be expected. After the injection, the injection sites are visible and small bruises and swelling may occur. Theoretically, infections can occur despite sterile injections. Taking acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen should only be discontinued up to one week before the planned therapy after consultation with the attending physician. The intake of paracetamol and metamizole does not need to be changed for PRP therapy.

Contraindications
